Synopsis：In 697 AD, Empress Wu Zetian of the Great Zhou dynasty decreed that the Grand Ritual of the Tripod would be held on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month at the altar near the dam of Guquan Town, to consolidate her imperial authority. On the twelfth day of the eighth month, a Dragon God curse struck the Guquan Dam, causing multiple individuals to undergo bodily mutations and be devoured by a demonic dragon guarding the Dragon God's treasure. The curse continued to spread, and in an even more bizarre turn, Wang Weihe, a Deputy Director of the Water Ministry who had never believed in the Dragon God curse, underwent draconification while attending court and attacked Empress Wu.
