Synopsis：During the Republic of China era, Miss Qian is strangled to death when Uncle Nine, a traditional Chinese medicine doctor in Xingwu Town, is in attendance at the ancestor worship in the Qian residence. After finding the Zhongkui jade pendant left behind by the murderer, Uncle Nine suspects that the murderer has a grudge against Mr. Qian. When the murderer strikes again, Uncle Nine and police captain Liang Liansheng begin a secret investigation. Ultimately, the murderer is revealed to be Ding Mu, who committed the murders as a memorial to his brother Ding Yuan who hanged himself. Ding Mu surrenders, Uncle Nine rescues Qian Qiaoyun who has been robbed, and the peace in town is restored.
