Synopsis：This film tells the bizarre tragedy in a mountain villa called Gushan Village during the Republic of China period. Yao Xiu, a young lady of the Yao family, being confused into a demon by Bai Pizi, leading to the murder of the entire family. Years later, under the alias Lu Xiao'an, Yao Xiu returns to Gushan Village to investigate the cause of her family's murder that year. In the end, she uses clever tricks to identify the real culprit and breaks the illusion that Bai Pizi can control people, revealing that all feudal superstitions are rumors and legends. She advocates science and the elimination of superstitions, establishes a correct worldview, and firmly believes in materialism.
