Synopsis："The Story of Marion" is an innovative mixture of documentary and storytelling. It is the semi-fictional imagining of the life of Marion, the longest living tortoise documented and the last of her kind. Through her tale, the viewer witnesses the problems of extinction due to human activity, particularly due to excessive hunting and destruction of habitat. We see what Marion sees, including the loss of her mate and her children to poachers, as well as the attempts by an animal-loving girl to protect her from the wild. Reflecting the longevity of her species, the tale is a saga that covers centuries, and the viewer will go away with both a sense of loss that her species is gone, but also a conviction that more must be done to save relatives of the noble Seychelles tortoise."
