Synopsis：This film is a joyful and festive Lunar New Year comedy set in Northeast China's countryside. It tells the story of Jiang Dawei (Yang Zhigang), the former first secretary of the impoverished village Laoshaoguo, who returns to help the last five "hardcore poverty households" that have stubbornly resisted getting out of poverty. Carrying special poverty-alleviation funds allocated by his work unit in Beijing, Jiang Dawei braves a heavy snowstorm to revisit the village where he once served. He personally visits each of the remaining five households, sharing New Year’s Eve dinners with them to understand their true difficulties. By tailoring solutions to each family's specific problems, he helps the villagers—who had fallen into habits of being "sharp, lazy, gluttonous, and slippery"—realize the real causes of their poverty. Through a science-based livestock cooperative that leverages each person's strengths, the five households come to recognize their own talents and advantages, regain confidence in life, and achieve a "dual escape from poverty" both materially and spiritually.
