Synopsis：The Hungry Ghost is one of the six realms in Buddhist terminology. It is believed that those who have committed wrongdoings in their lifetime will enter the realm of Hungry Ghosts and suffer torment in hell after death. Many years ago, a sorcerer arrived at a desolate village seeking shelter. Unbeknownst to the villagers, the sorcerer was performing a resurrection ritual using his wife's corpse as a sacrifice. In a state of shock, the villagers set fire to the sorcerer's wife, which filled the sorcerer with rage. In retaliation, he cursed the village with the most malicious form of sorcery—the Hungry Ghost Curse. From that moment on, the villagers were unable to consume food and resorted to killing each other. It is said that those who become Hungry Ghosts can never be reincarnated unless they find a substitute to take their place in death. Several years later, Mr. Jiang Shuo and Qin Yiheng, investigators specializing in haunted houses, received a mysterious and lucrative assignment. They set out to the enigmatic village from the past, only to find an abandoned inn. However, this forsaken village inn was plagued by a series of inexplicable incidents, with one disappearance following another... Mr. Jiang Shuo embarks on a journey to unravel the truth behind the legend of the Hungry Ghost.
