Synopsis：During the Republican era, a young intellectual named Wu Wei, accompanied by his girlfriend and close friend, heads to the countryside for inspiration. They arrive at a remote town known as Puppet Town, where, arranged by the town head, they settle into the Huang Family Compound. The gloomy-faced butler of the compound leads them on a tour of the house but strictly forbids entry into a room on the third floor. Curiosity gets the better of Wu Wei and his girlfriend, and they disobey the butler's warning, uncovering a long-concealed conspiracy lurking within Puppet Town. Now Wu Wei must evade the relentless pursuit of puppets while uncovering the truth behind the mysterious death of a theater troupe leader’s daughter that occurred a year ago.
